Mother‘s ring.

She wore this ring. It came from that highway shop, Stuckey’s. On the way to and from St. Louis we would stop. They had pecan rolls and authentic turquoise jewelry. The real thing!

The ring.

I have no idea how she fit it on her finger. I clearly remember her wearing it.

I came across it last night. It caught my eye in and among a box on my dresser.

I took it out and polished it up a bit. It doesn’t fit on any of my fingers. I’m wearing anyway, halfway down the ring finger on my right hand. I’ve seen that style.

Halfway down.

She was calling me. It was the anniversary of her passing. Thank you mom.
