Cipher

An article in the NYT caught my eye. A Ph.D student in English, Vanessa Braganza thinks she has decoded a dense tangle of letters in a jewelry design. It was sketched for Catherine of Aragon.

Then I was out walking today and saw a nice cipher on an abandoned sign.

“Landsbak”? I have often thought, how nice to have our land back. Back from US Steel. Back to nature. Back to the wild prairie.

The wild flowers are opening more and more. There aren’t many butterflies yet. I hope it’s really a yet and not a no insects year. We need the bugs.
