On a walk

It was hard to imagine that we had had a snow storm just a few days ago.

The beach was quiet. No one around. As usual I spied plenty of polished glass.

On the way home, A COYOTE!! She/he was right there on the path. I stopped well short. She/he had already seen me. We stood still for a moment. At first I thought it was a dog loose from its leash. I searched the area for a human. No one around. Definitely a coyote. Beautiful in her/his fall colors.

I decided to take a wide detour away and around so as not to disturb or alarm. We each went along our way stopping, waiting, watching, measuring and keeping an even distance from each other.
