Those Crows!

….are out there defending their territory. The drama of spring is ramping up. I heard a robin. The daffodils are pushing through. Still, it seems a bit early. Having lived in one place for the most of sixty nine years I can see and feel the climate changing. The grass out in the park stayed green almost all winter. We got more rain than snow!! This is Chicago! We expect something different.

This is the view on one of those foggy days from my drawing desk. Those are broken bits of tail lights that I bring home along with glass from the beach and good sticks. My neighbor suggested that I might have a bit of Bowerbird in me.

Then out walking, there was another Bowerbird spirit out gathering objects to display. It was a chance encounter. It felt almost like a deja vu. A quick wrinkle in the space time continuum. It was curious. I was so surprised and curious. What are the chances?!

The practice is to keep walking and gathering. Keep noticing. How is your inner weather? Ask yourself, what am noticing? It’s all changing all the time. The texture of the air, the quality of my breath. The practice of noticing brings an awareness. The more I can be with what is, the better I can face the challenges arriving and arriving.
